As an allied friend of the Ag Aviation industry, this ruling is concerning.
Ag Pilots operate from 15 to 75 feet while working and 500 plus feet while ferrying constantly focusing on obstacles entering and exiting their working environment. The speed required to complete their work makes it very difficult to detect drone operators working in their area while having no advanced warning.
Safety is always at the forefront of the Ag Aviation industry and line of sight is very important for safety. Safety for all in the air (agriculture, medivac, first responders, general aviation, etc.) will be in jeopardy. I ask that all aspects of aviation be considered before safety of all become an issue.
